Driving Industrial Innovation in Turkey’s Carbon Black Market

As global industries shift toward local manufacturing and sustainable production, Turkey continues to position itself as a key industrial hub in the Middle East and Africa.

One of the most significant recent investments is the OYAK Carbon Black Project, a joint venture between Turkey’s OYAK Pension Fund and Taiwan-based International CSRC Investment Holding.

The new carbon black production facility, located in Ankara, represents a strategic step in meeting domestic demand while reducing import dependency. With an estimated market value of around $258 million, the Turkish carbon black industry is now one of the largest in the Middle East & Africa region.

In 2024, WEIZIDOM proudly joined this project as a trusted flow control solution provider, partnering with Alfer, a leading Turkish fan and air system manufacturer.

WEIZIDOM supplied high-performance ON-OFF Pneumatic Butterfly Valves valued at US$370,000, supporting critical systems in the carbon black production line — from air handling and process control to exhaust management.

ANKARA—Turkey's state-owned pension fund OYAK has partnered with Taiwan - based International CSRC Investment Holding to set up a carbon black production plant. The project will serve the local Turkish market, described as the largest carbon black market in the Middle East & Africa region, with an estimated value of around $258 million.
